Founded in 2001 in Norm's garage, sewing and printing shirts one at time. Thanks to you, we have grown over the years and Norm has his garage back! Visit us at our new design headquarters and retail showroom located in downtown Toronto, Canada. There are often one off prototypes and clearance items available or just drop in and say Hello.
From our humble beginnings with only Norm's friends and family wearing his cobbled together clothing, now you may see some of your favourite teams and clubs wearing Axis Gear.
Team Canada and Team USA Orienteering were outfitted in 2006.
Team Merrell, Team GoLite, Team Checkpoint Zero, Team Sleepmonsters and many more of the top adventure racing teams are racing in their Axis Gear custom jerseys.

01/01/10 - Axis Gear now is the exclusive distributor for Just Shirts - a FAIR TRADE apparel womens' co-op in El Salvador - Fair wages for fair labour.
09/01/09 - Eco friendly PVC and Phylate free ink introduced as and eco option
07/01/09 - Axis Gear introduces waterbased inks as an eco option vs. standard plastisol ink
04/01/09 - 1% of all Green Product Sales are donated to the David Suzuki Foundation and personally matched by President and Founder, Norm Chew
5/15/08 - Axis Gear joined GET | Green Enterprises Toronto.

11/26/07 - All printing cleaners switched to soy based biogradeable & non toxic screen ink cleaners
It seems that everybody is jumping on the environmental issue lately but Axis Gear has incorporated the promotion of a healthy environment in its operations from it's inception.
From the first day of production, we have use enviromentally friendly biodegradeable cleaners and solutions everywhere possible in our factory. From "Simple Green" biodegradeable degreasers for our equipment to using Method Brand cleaners (see Partners area for more info on Method!) in our staff kitchen and washrooms, we hope these small efforts will help to reduce our impact and encourage our staff to do the same at home.
Our lunch room has a green organic bin which diverts a full commerical garbage bag of organic waste a week from the landfill.
Recently, Axis Gear added a bicycle rack and staff yearly bicycle expenditure allowance to encourage cycling to work.
